No Fear Of Rejection

Bill Porter spent years pounding the pavement , knocking on doors, ignoring rejection after rejection. No matter what response he received after knocking,no answers or negative replies, he moved on, undaunted, for Bill had a mantra that calmed his nerves:" The next house will say 'yes.'The next house will say 'yes.'"
This is a story about a very successful Watkins Products salesman, whose live was portrayed in the book "Ten Things I learned from Bill Porter" by Shelly Brady and in the movie "Door to Door". He managed to succeed in business despite having a cerebral palsy, a condition that greatly affects his speech and the muscles in his arms and legs.

You like it or not,but we are all salesman. We are selling our "acts","shows","music" or "skills" to an agents, producers and talent buyers...Let's remember: "...If no one answered, or if the door were opened and then closed, he (Bill Porter) turned, still smiling, and walked eagerly to the next door."
